At this time of year a lot of our time is taken up clearing the many pots throughout the garden and preparing them, ready to take the tulips for the Spring display. We are also assessing our tender plants as the nights are getting colder, and starting to clear and clean the polytunnels and glasshouses.
We keep at least one plant of everything that is borderline hardy and tender, in case we lose our plants in the garden. We can then re-propagate from these for the following season if need be. We also have a small glasshouse dedicated to a stock plant of each of our salvia collection. We keep propagating these all the way through the winter, unless it is exceptionally cold.
